Detailed Breakdown of Features

A snapshot of key demographic data shining a light on which identifiable audiences generated traffic to your release.

The Audience widget contains the following data:

- Total Potential Audience – The estimated number of viewers potentially exposed to your exact matches and tweets. This is calculated by adding the average visitors (from audience data providers) to each online site that posted your news.

Data Sources:

• - Alexa – A U.S.-based web traffic analysis company.
• - Siteworthtraffic – An internet analytics company often used by Asian customers.
• - SimilarWeb* – Provides Unique Monthly Visitors (desktop + mobile), updated monthly.

- Journalist (previously Media Views) – Total views of your release via PR Newswire for Journalists.

- AP News Outlets – Outlets and contacts reached through the Associated Press or via Cision’s curated influencer lists.

Note:

The Audience metric in Wire Performance Overview combines Total Potential Audience, Journalists, and AP News outlets. As a result, the numbers may appear higher in the Audience section of the Performance Overview.

Total Potential Audience, previously shown in the Pickup tab, is now located in the Audience widget. If you’d like to see a detailed breakdown, navigate to Exact Placements to view the audience by outlet.

See the details of each media outlet from PR Newswire for Journalists, from which a journalist viewed your release.  This table displays: 

• Media outlet name
• Media outlet industry
• Media Type
• Media Location
• Number of views from journalists working from this media organization
• Total number of media views to your release from PR Newswire for Journalists.

Click the See Details link in the Audience widget to view detailed Journalist data. The number shown in bracket next to Journalist data represents the total count of credentialed journalists subscribed. These are journalists who received your release via email, sourced from our proprietary channel, PR Newswire for Journalists.

Journalists

PR Newswire distributes your press release to the Associated Press, a global news network that reaches a wide range of media platforms.
 

• This section will only appear if your release was sent through the U.S. wire.
• ​Click See Details under the Audience widget to view the full list of AP outlets, with options to drill down further.
• The number in brackets next to Associated Press Outlets shows the total number of outlets where your press release was distributed.

• Interactive map breaks out all views by region.  

The industries covered and media types of the journalists & bloggers accessing your release on PR Newswire for Journalists, and where they are located.

• Type -- See media type of the top outlets where journalists have viewed your release.
• Industry -- See the industries of the top outlets where journalists have viewed your release.
• Location -- See the countries of the top outlets where journalists have viewed your release.
