Note:
When you open an individual release report, Pickup metrics are now located under the Wire tab. This section provides detailed metrics including Exact Placements, Pickup Over Time, Pickup by Source Type, and Pickup by Industry.
⚠️ The Total Potential Audience metric has moved to the Audience widget. Please visit the Audience tab in the help page for more details.
What is "Pickup"?
Pickup represents all relevant media placements and influencer interactions around your content. It includes exact placements - full-text postings of your press release from PR Newswire syndication partners and monitored third-party websites that republish your content verbatim. These can appear on news and information sites, blogs, widgets, RSS feeds, and aggregators.

Detailed Breakdown of Features
Pickup answers the question: Which outlets picked up the full text-posting of my news release?
- Pickup: Defined as all relevant media placements and influencer interactions with your content, including exact placements from online syndication partners who repost the release verbatim
- Exact placements are full text posting of the press release in the online media that we monitor.
*As of April 25, 2020 PR Newswire replaced Cision Digital Reach with a 3rd party data provider and industry leader: SimilarWeb. SimilarWeb is purely based on Unique Visitors per Month (UVPM) for both desktop and mobile users. The benefits of this include improved timeliness, accuracy and transparency of data. SimilarWeb Data is updated monthly so an outlet's audience will vary from month to month.
How Pickup is calculated:
The Pickup number displayed in this tile represents the total count of relevant placements where your release has been published. To view the detailed list of placements, go to the Exact Placements section and open the All tab.

Exact placements are full text posting of your press release in the online media that we monitor. A tabbed view is available with Top Outlets and All. The Top Outlets tab displays outlets ranked by maximum potential audience, while the All tab provides the complete list of exact placements, showing all sites that published the full text of the press release.
